S-C's Bloyer sets meet record at River Valley Invite

Monica Bloyer set a new meet record in the 400 meter hurdles, and the 4x400 relay set a new school record as Schaller-Crestland finished third in the River Valley Invitational.

Galva-Holstein won the team title with 119 points. The Wildcats were third with 61 and Aurelia 10th with 19.5.

Bloyer won the 400 hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 9.65 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Bloyer, Jenny Davis, Jenna Malcom and Amy Wedeking placed second in a new school record time of 4:14.14.

The 4x200 relay team of Melissa Werner, Davis, Wedeking and Malcom took second in a time of 1:51.19. Andrea Cook was third in the 100 hurdles in 17.51 seconds.

Tessa Schmidt took fourth in the 400 hurdles in 1:14.35, as did Malcom in the high jump in 4-8. Whitney Wiener placed fifth in the 3,000 meters in a time of 16:07.45.

Galva-Holstein's Laura Jacobson placed first in two events. She won the 800 meters in a new meet record time of 2:22.36 and claimed the high jump in 5-1.

Abbie Bagenstos won the long jump in 14-7. The Pirates won the 4x200 relay in 1:50.27 and took the 4x400 in 4:12.21.

Ashley McGuire was second in the 1,500 meters in 5:35.09, as was Kelli Beyer in the long jump in 14-3 3/4 and Donna Hanson in the high jump in 5-0.

McGuire took third in the 400 meters in 1:06.31, as did Emily Lichter in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:13.30.

Kayla Schubert was fourth in the 3,000 meters in 13:12.38, as was Jessie Wurr in the shot put in 31-10 1/4. Alli Egger was fifth in the 400 meters in 1:07.58, as was Penni Heitmann in the shot put in 31-0.

Sierra Vogt was sixth in the 200 meters in 30.19 seconds, as were April Igou in the 1,500 meters in 6:13.91 and the 4x100 relay in 55.59 seconds.

Aurelia's 4x800 relay team of Leah Fishman, Sara Husman, Wendy Nelson and Trista Johnson placed second in 10:38.

Fishman was third in the 800 meters in 2:38, while Johnson was fourth in 2:39. The 4x400 relay took fourth in 4:35, while Johnson was sixth in the long jump in 13-4 1/2.
