Storm Lake places fifth at Pocahontas

Dan Christiansen won the 800 meters to help Storm Lake finish in a tie for fifth place in Class A at the Pocahontas Relays last Friday.

Spencer won the team title with 122 points. Storm Lake tied Webster City with 47.

Lee ran the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 10.94 seconds.

Alex Kwikkel placed third in the 200 meters in 24.54 seconds, as did Logan Masters in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:02.5.

Jim Steward was fourth in the high jump in 5 feet, 4 inches, as were Adam Sievers in the 3,200 meters in a time of 11:59.09 and Kevin Wulfekuhler in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:58.40.

Placing fifth were Manuel Marquez in the long jump in 17-4 1/2, Masters in the 110 high hurdles in 19.71 seconds and Steward in the 400 meters in a clocking of 56.82 seconds.

Adam Kelly placed sixth in the 800 meters in 2:19.17.

The 4x800 relay took third with a time of 9:29.18. The mile medley was fourth in 4:10.66, the 4x200 fifth in 1:41.88, the 4x400 fifth in 3:46.08, and the 4x100 sixth in 52.4 seconds.
