SL girls take depleted squad to Estherville
Heidi Hammen finished fifth in the 400 meter hurdles, as did the 4x100 relay as Storm Lake placed sixth at the Estherville Invitational last Friday night.
Spirit Lake won the meet with 125 points. Storm Lake scored seven with a depleted squad.
Hammen finished the 400 hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 19.37 seconds. The 4x100 tandem of Morae Youde, Billie Blanchard, Hammen and Trish Halder had a time of 55.95 seconds.
Youde was sixth in the 100 meters in 14.07 seconds. Two relays placed sixth. The distance medley team of Phouang Sihakhune, Ty Zimmerman, Blanchard and Ashley Solem turned in a time of 5:06.28.
The sprint medley unit of Halder, Sihakhune, Youde and Solem posted a time of 2:14.07.
Annel Torres placed third in the JV meet, running the 800 meters in 2:56.06. Kayla Christ was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 24-0. The 4x400 relay was fifth in a time of 5:10.1, and Tiffany Farrauto was sixth in the discus with a throw of 60-3.
