Alta Middle School exploratory sessions set

Alta School District officials have announced upcoming exploratory classes that will be offered to seventh and eighth grade students at the new Alta Middle School. There will be four exploratories for each grade, with students taking one during each of the four quarters of the school year.

Seventh graders will take a rotation of Media, Industrial Technology, Spanish and Art, while eighth graders will take a rotation of Vocational Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, Computers and Art.

The exploratory courses would be held during the final two periods of the day.

City of Alta to change original budget

The City of Alta will hold a public hearing on proposed changes in the FY 2003-04 city budget at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 5, in the City Council chambers.

Revenues have increased in several areas, including a $80,000 rise in TIF funds and a $220,000 increase in intergovernmental funds, most notably through a housing rehabilitation program.

New expenditures include costs associated with nuisance abatements and housing demolition.
