SL netters drop match to Indians

Monday, April 21, 2003

Spirit Lake won all six singles matches and then proceeded to claim all three doubles matches as it blanked Storm Lake 9-0 in a Lakes Conference girls tennis meet played on Wednesday at Spirit Lake.

"We did not have a good performance from anyone, not to take anything away from a good group from Spirit Lake," Storm Lake coach Beau Ruleaux said. "I think we were a litte worn out, having our fourth meet in six days. It will be nice to get back to practice and work on some specifics before we hit it again with a dual at Spencer."

Storm Lake is now 0-4 overall on the season.

Spirit Lake won the junior varsity meet 7-2. Jessica Siefer won 9-8 in singles, as did Robin Madtson 8-6.

Storm Lake's boys meet against Spirit Lake was postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been set.
