Paige Havens, Amy Wulfekuhler and Stacy Schmidt each placed first in one individual event to help Storm Lake finish fifth in the Cherokee Tomahawk Relays last Friday night.
Sioux City Heelan won the meet with 113 points. Storm Lake scored 67.
Havens won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 12.19 seconds. Wulfekuhler claimed the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 9 inches, while Schmidt took the 100 meters in a clocking of 13.33 seconds.
The 4x100 relay tandem of Schmidt, Havens, Molly Daniels and Wulfekuhler placed first in 52.01 seconds.
Havens finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.23. Schmidt was third in the 200 meters in 28.2 seconds, as was the 4x200 relay team of Morae Youde, Steph Rude, Billie Blanchard and Wulfekuhler in a time of 1:54.8.
Placing fourth were Daniels in the 400 meters in 1:05.58, Trish Halder in the 100 meters in 13.91 seconds, and the sprint medley tandem of Wulfekuhler, Rude, Youde and Blanchard in 2:03.09.
Daniels was fifth in the high jump in 4-4, as were Ty Zimmerman in the discus in 92-2 and Heidi Hammen in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.36 seconds.
The 4x800 relay team took sixth with a time of 12:14.6.
"This was a great meet for our first outdoor meet of the year," Storm Lake coach John Brostad said. "Our veterans really ran well and some young freshmen performed very well. To score in 11 of the 15 events we entered, plus double score in the 100 and 400 was a great night for us. The kids really performed well and I was very pleased with everyone's effort, attitude, and performances."
