Have you seen the haunted eyes of a beaten and neglected child?
What have you done to help, asks a survivor of child abuse, giving the charge to stand up and take a stand against abuse during the 3rd annual candlelight vigil sponsored by the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program for Buena Vista, Cherokee and Ida counties.
The vigil serves as a way to commemorate and remember the children lost to child abuse and neglect in the past year, said Kathy Fritz, CASA coordinator.
That list includes 11 who died in 2002, including the newborn infant found at the county recycling center a year ago this May.
