The Buena Vista Community Theatre at the Roxy is proud to announce this summer's production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." This musical by Andrew J. Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice is sure to delight everyone - no matter what the taste in music. The musical styles ranging from classical Broadway ballads to country western, rock, calypso and go-go dancers. French cafe performers, and a touch of humor lend a modern touch to the Biblical story of Jacob and and his twelve sons.
An ambitious production needs a large cast. Roles include: Joseph, Jacob, eleven brothers, narrator, Elvis impersonator, Potiphar, butler, baker adult chorus, rock band members, children's chorus (age 8 and up).
The chorus is an important part of this production, as they remain on stage throughout the whole show and sing in most of the numbers. Women from the chorus will also play many varied roles: the brother's wives, the go-go dancers, Potiphar's court, Egyptian dancers; and back-up singers for Elvis.
