Four Storm Lake events set new meet records at the Lakes Conference indoor track and field meet on Tuesday night at Buena Vista University's Lamberti Recreation Center.
Shane Maier threw the shot put 60 feet, 8 3/4 inches to place first. His distance of 63-6, which he threw in last Friday's Keith Schmidt Invitational, ranks in the top eight in the United States.
The 4x200 relay team of Mike Miller, Derrick Randall, Colt Cook and Mike Keller posted a first-place time of 1 minute 35.96 seconds. The 4x400 relay unit of Keller, Tyler Radke, Nick Sorbe and Miller turned in a first-place time of 3:36.80.
Amy Wulfekuhler set a new Lakes Conference indoor meet record in the long jump with a winning leap of 16-10.
Stacy Schmidt broke her own Lakes Conference indoor meet record in the 55 meters, but finished second to Spencer's Casey McDaniel with a clocking of 7.38 seconds.
Keller won the long jump with a leap of 20-2 1/2. Lance Eddie was second in the 200 meters in a clocking of 24.89 seconds.
Tyler Youde placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.09, as did Tyler Radke in the 55 hurdles in a clocking of 8.62 seconds.
The 4x800 relay team of Dan Christiansen, Mike Solem, Kevin Wulfekuhler and Sorbe placed third with a time of 8:53.20.
