Wade Vander Maten and Keith Sietstra each finished with 21 points as No. 5 Boyden-Hull shot 69 percent from the field in cruising to an 85-48 victory over seventh-ranked Treynor in the first round of the Class 1A state tournament on Monday.
Boyden-Hull made 31 of 45 field goals in the game. Treynor was just 18 of 55 for 33 percent.
Boyden-Hull led 25-13 after the first quarter before extending to a 43-27 lead at the half. It was 63-35 after three periods.
Blake Reinke had 14 points and Dusty Meyn 10 for the Comets. Sietstra had six rebounds, and Reinke and Dan DeJong each had five.
Quentin Stortenbecker scored 20 points to lead Treynor, whch finished 23-3 overall.
Boyden-Hull, now 24-2, will play North Mahaska (26-0) in the semifinals on Thursday.

Trevor Harkema poured in 33 points and Grant Stout added 25 points and 13 rebounds as No. 1 North Mahaska got past Hubbard-Radcliffe in the first round of the Class 1A state tournament on Monday.
North Mahaska led 19-14 after the first quarter. It was 32-24 at halftime and 54-45 entering the fourth period.
North Mahaska made 23 of 55 field goals for 42 percent. Hubbard-Radcliffe was 28 of 62 for 45 percent.
North Mahaska made 20 of 26 free throws to 3 of 7 for Hubbard-Radcliffe.
Adam Weig scored 22 points to lead Hubbard-Radcliffe. Isaac Weber added 18 and Reilly Vaughan 11.
