Phil Redenbaugh, an attorney in Storm Lake, was elected vice-president of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, which is an honored group of trial attorneys celebrating its 41st anniversary.
The Academy was formed in 1962 to provide a forum in which Iowa's top trial lawyers can exchange information and viewpoints on the many aspects of trial law and to promote professionalism. Membership in the Academy is considered one of the highest honors in the profession.
Although membership is by invitation only and limited to 250 attorneys, the Academy freely shares its expertise with the rest of the Iowa legal community. The Advocacy Institute provides expert continuing legal education for all attorneys. The Academy sponsors the Court Administrators Workshop, which brings Iowa judges and court personnel together to discuss problems within the court system. The Academy is non-partisan with the purpose of promoting the civil and criminal justice systems.
