St. Mary's Ball and Charity Auction 2003 will feature a new event as part of the "A Royal Tradition" event Saturday, March 29, in the Siebens Forum on the Buena Vista University campus. Some ballgoers will enjoy being pampered in the new exclusive Royal Panther Club prior to the ball and auction event.
Couples contributing $150 or more to the Ball and Charity Auction cash donation/ticket sales category will be invited to a 5:15 p.m. reception in the Forum Room #5. They will enjoy complimentary cocktails, soft drinks and appetizers until 6:30 p.m. They may still visit the main ballroom to bid on silent auction items and return to the reception. The Royal Panther Club is sponsored by Malarky's.
All donors contributing $35 or more per person (including Royal Panther Club members) will enjoy silent auction bidding beginning at 6 p.m., appetizers, beer and wine cocktails courtesy of Central Bank, a sit-down dinner at 7:30 p.m. Attendees will also be able to bid on great live auction prizes with Amy and Annie Smith at 7:30 p.m.
The winners of the Big Getaway Raffle will be drawn following the conclusion of the live auction. Two winners will take home $500 each, one will win $1,000, one will win $2,500. The grand prize is a great getaway vacation through Nomad Travel or Orange Tree Travel, Storm Lake. The grand prize winner may also decide to take a $10,000 gift.
Chairs for the 2003 event are Ted and Kay Lenhart with Kevin and MariKay Kottke serving as co-chairs.
Volunteers are currently in the process of securing auction gifts from community members and area businesses.
