Thanks for the benefit response

As one of several organizers of the Shoot to the Stars Benefit for Georgia Evans, I would personally like to thank everyone for their support in helping to organize and attending the event. There is no way to thank every single business from Pomeroy to Cherokee and all the towns in between that donated items for the auction, but you know who you are and without your generosity we could not have raised the amount of money that we did.

Special thanks to the VFW, Danny's Sports Spot and the Pool & Pub in Cherokee for helping us organize the event, providing food and letting us use your facilities. To Dana Larsen and the Pilot-Tribune for running the article about the event and special advertisements to help publicize it. Thanks to your help, we got the word out to people and we had a tremendous turnout! At one point, there was approximately 500 people at the event! There were so many people that were involved that I couldn't even begin to name them all! You know who you are, so give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it!

It is really great to be a part of a community that comes together in a person's time of need. Thanks to everyone's help, we were able to raise over $13,000 that night.

Georgia has a long road ahead of her, but everyone who knows her knows she will fight her illness all the way! There is still an account set up at Valley Bank in Cherokee for anyone who would still like to donate. Please feel free to send Georgia your well-wishes too! You may send them to Georgia Evans, 410 1/2 Magnetic, Cherokee, 51012.

Thanks again, you are all great people!

Jennifer Launderville,
