Resident uses home garage

For many in Storm Lake, waxing, buffing and polishing the family car is an enjoyable hobby that helps keep dirt, dust and grime from building up on the exterior of the vehicle.

Harvey Buckendahl has turned that love of cars, vans and pickups into a full-time vehicle cleaning business, using his garage as the headquarters of an enterprise aiming to keep all makes and models of cars looking as good as new.

Buckendahl, 57, has been running the small business full-time since 1991, and he said he looks forward to the jobs awaiting him every day he sets foot in his Russell Street garage.

"I've liked messing with cars all my life, and I really enjoy the work that I do now," Buckendahl said.
