N-F student nominated for Academy

A Newell-Fonda High School student has been nominated by Senator Chuck Grassley for one of two available placements to the U.S. Naval Academy.

Ross Eldred, Newell, was one of 19 nominees announced by Grassley for the prestigious Annapolis, MD, campus.

"The caliber of Iowa students vying for the few openings at our service academies never ceases to amaze me," Grassley said. "As always, it's inspiring to see such high achievers and talented young Iowans," he said.

From Grassley's nominees, each academy will select students to fill vacancies for the 2003/2004 school year.
