Services for Wanda Alice Drzycimski, 75, of Storm Lake, formerly of Linn Grove, were held Monday, December 16, at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Linn Grove, with Pastor Robert Grupp officiating. Burial was in Barnes Township Cemetery, Linn Grove.
Wanda Alice Drzycimski, the daughter of Arthur D. and Lillie H. Daugherty Taylor, was born December 2, 1927 in Dickens, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Cornell, where she received her education, graduating from Cornell High School. She later attended AIB College.
Following her schooling she worked as a clerk typist at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio.
Wanda married Kenneth Paul Drzycimski on February 28, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Following their marriage, they made their home on a farm around 11 miles north of Alta. Wanda was an active farm wife and assisted in their farming operation. She was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Linn Grove, where she was church session clerk, taught Sunday school and was a member of the RPW. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing, scenic trips, music, writing poems and spending time with her family, particular in later years with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Drzycimski passed away at the Methodist Manor in Storm Lake, on Wednesday, December 11, at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of rural Alta; one son and his wife, Greg and Merri Drzycimski of rural Alta; two daughters and their husbands: Linda and Stuart Genson of Linn Grove, and Diane and Tim Straub of Peterson; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers: Wallace Taylor of Newell, Arthur Taylor; five sisters: Hazel Griffith, Alpharetta Palaschak of Rushmore, MN, Florence Siegersma of Milaca, MN, Colleen Leonard of Lancaster, OH and Jacque Vatne of Mendota Heights, MN; other relatives and friends.
