Pajama Story Time to be held at library

Pajama Story Time, at the Storm Lake Public Library on Thursday, December 19, at 7:30 p.m. will feature stories of Christmas on the farm, and will include a telling of Farmer Christmas by Jerry Johnson of Buena Vista University. All ages are invited to wear pajamas and to bring blankets while enjoying tales of rural Christmas, its traditions and songs. Crafts and hot chocolate follow the readings.

Cosmetics class

to be offered

Wednesday, January 22, at 6:30-8:30 p.m. will be a special night out for the ladies, courtesy of Community Education. Bring your make-up bag and learn how to best accentuate your positive attributes at the Storm Lake Middle School Art Room. Registration deadline is Friday, January 17. Fee is $12.

An instructor from Faust Institute of Cosmetology will present information that will help identify facial, eye and lip shapes as well as skin tones so you'll be able to make choices that will enhance the best you have. Skin and hair care tips will be discussed also. This class promises to be informative and fun.

Singer-songwriter to perform

Arts on Grand is pleased to present Singer-Songwriter Chad Elliott, formerly of One Man's Junk, performing at the Spencer gallery December 27, from 7-9 p.m. The evening will be a collection of songs and stories collected over the past few years of traveling and singing for colleges and coffeehouses around the country. Chad's musical styles range from songwriters like James Taylor, Tom Waits, Townes Van Zandt and John Prine. CD's of One Man's Junk will be on hand, as well his homemade solo CD "New Young Destination." For details, call 712-262-4307.
