The 2002 Outstanding Business of the Year Venture Award has been presented to Rembrandt Enterprises by the Iowa Area Development Group.
Rembrandt Enterprises is an Iowa-based egg production and processing company. The company recently completed the first phase of a four million egg laying and in line breaking operation near Rembrandt in Buena Vista County. The facility, which includes it's own feed mills and refrigeration complex, will ultimately employ over 80 people and will become one of the largest poultry and egg processing projects in the world.
"This is the 15th year IADG and our member electric cooperatives have recognized Iowa businesses for providing leadership, capital investment an employment opportunities for rural Iowa communities," said IADG President, Rand M. Fisher. "The commitment to Iowa demonstrated by new and expanding facilities and equipment purchases translates into hundreds of jobs for Iowa." The investment by these companies further strengthens our state, its communities and the families of Iowa, Fisher added. IADG on behalf of Iowa's electric cooperatives and member municipal systems honored nine such distinguished Iowa companies with the Iowa Venture Award. This is the 15th year that IADG has recognized and celebrated Iowa's business leaders and entrepreneurs. IADG took stock of the past 15 years in celebrating Iowa's finest examples of business excellence.
Since 1988 IADG has recognized over 100 successful Iowa companies with the Iowa Venture Award. Also honored for 2003 were De Jong Greenhouse, Pella; Dykstra Dairy, Maurice; Fairview Farms Inc., of Corwith; ITWC Inc., Malcom; Sunrise Farms, Inc. of Harris; Vosberg Enterprises, Inc., from Farnhamville; Wal-Mart Distribution, Mount Pleasant and West Central Soy of Ralston.
