Storm Lake led 14-12 after the first quarter of play. LeMars took a 28-23 lead at the halftime break. It was 43-36 LeMars heading into the fourth period of play.

A.J. Spielman scored 23 points to lead Storm Lake. Nick Sorbe added 11 points, Casey Morgan 10 and Brady Miller eight.

Sorbe cleared nine rebounds and Morgan seven. Sorbe, Ryan McClatchey and Matt Nees each had three assists.

Storm Lake made 13 of 28 field goals for 48 percent and 23 of 30 free throws.

"We were a little outmatched athletically but did a nice job making the extra pass to get open looks," Storm Lake coach Tim Keigan said. "They made a run in the fourth quarter and we didn't have an answer for it."
