Marilyn F. Jones, 76, of Storm Lake, died on Sunday, December 1, in Scottsdale, Ariz., after a lengthy illness.
The funeral service was held Saturday, December 7, at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home between 4 and 8 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established at the United Methodist Church in memory of Marilyn.
Marilyn Frances Tracy was born December 27, 1925 at home in Casey,the daughter of Dayton and Margaret (Hughes) Tracy. She grew up and attended school in Stuart.
On December 31, 1943 Marilyn married Elmer Jones in Des Moines. They made their home in Storm Lake. Marilyn worked as a dental office assistant and worked in furniture sales. She also was a mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends, going on family vacations, tending her flowerbeds. But her favorite thing was to try out new recipes.
Her family includes her son Richard and his wife Arlis of Scottsdale, Ariz; her granddaughters Jackie and Angella; one brother Bill and his wife Betty Tracy of Greenfield, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents; her husband and a sister Marcella and her husband Earl Gray.
