Robert H. Kolb, age 84, of Storm Lake, died on Friday, December 6, at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell, following a long illness.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 11, at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake with the Reverend Duane Queen officiating. Burial was in the East Lawn Palms Cemetery in Tucson, Ariz.
Robert Henry Kolb was born June 28, 1918 in Storm Lake, the son of Henry P. and Martha (Dorsch) Kolb. He graduated from Storm Lake High School and attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.
On August 19, 1939 he was united in marriage to Bernice "Bea" Sutton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple lived in Storm Lake before moving to Kansas City, Missouri where they lived for five years. In 1946 they moved to Tucson, Ariz., and established Arizona Greenhouses. Tucson was their home for over fifty years before returning to Storm Lake.
While in Tucson, Robert was a member of St. Mark's Presbyterian Church. He was currently a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church of Storm Lake and the Lake Creek Country Club.
He is survived by his wife Bernice "Bea" Kolb of Storm Lake, a daughter, Sara Elizabeth Kolb of San Antonio, Texas; a son William Paul Kolb and his wife, Linda of Del Mar, Calif; a brother, Norman Kolb of Storm Lake; sisters-in-law; Jane Rasmussen, Nemaha and Virginia Buck, Sarasota, Fla, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his son, Robert James Kolb in 1966.
