A cutting edge seminar detailing storage, feeding and management of ethanol co-products for beef and swine animals will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the Western Iowa Tech Auditorium in Cherokee. Concurrent sessions will emphasize co-products for beef rations and dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) in swine diets.
"Corn co-products are a great untapped resource for lowa cattle producers,"said Beth Doran, Iowa State University Extension beef field specialist. "Feeding distillers wet grains with solubles to beef cattle can provide an excellent source of energy, a good by-pass protein source and can reduce subacute acidosis.
