'Jammin with JAG' to be on KAYL radio

Monday, November 18, 2002

Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates students from Storm Lake High School will be producing "Jammin With JAG" this Wednesday night, November 20, from 8-10 p.m., over KAYL 101.7 FM radio. This will be the third year for this successful radio program and fundraiser.

The target audience is high school and middle school students, but the public is encouraged to listen. Included in the program are student-made commercials from local businesses, the Lucky 13 Hit List from SLHS, and trivia questions with prizes for the correct call-in answers. Corporate sponsors for this show are Buena Vista University, Iowa Central Community College, Market-link, Bil-Mar Foods, and IBP.

KAYL has donated all their services and airtimes for the two-hour program. Student DJ's are Brandi Konradi, Celina Carpenter, Ashley Wolver, Cory Knoll, Luke Wilshusen, Luciano Tarin, Borvone Phothiboupha, Maria Bravo, and Josh Lundberg. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help cover the costs for Storm Lake I-JAG students to attend the Career Development Conference to be held at Camp Dodge in April.

High school students and 7th and 8th graders from the middle school are invited to participated in JAG fest at the SLHS Tornado Garden Cafe during Jammin' with JAG. As students listen to the show, they can participate in various games and activities organized by I-JAG students and purchase drinks from the Daily Grind, the espresso cart run by I-JAG students.

The public is invited to listen to "Jammin' With JAG" over KAYL and participate in the trivia questions, as read by the student DJ's during the show. According to Becky Klink, I-JAG President, "Jammin' With JAG is going to be better than ever this year because we're going to have more games to bring the kids to the Student Center, and we have bigger and better prizes!"
