Cherokee Symphony to open season

The Cherokee Symphony is opening its 47th concert season.

The Pops Concert will be presented Sunday,November 17, 2002 at 4 p.m. in the Cherokee Community Center with Maestro Lee Thorson as Conductor.

Featured vocalist will be Glee Crippen, soprano, from Storm Lake. She will sing selections from The Music Man by Meredith Willson/Isaac and selections from Les Miserables by Claude - Michel Schonberg/

Nimrod from "Enigma Variations" by Edward Elgar Dedicated to the memory of Louise Thorson

Reflections on the Hudson by Nancy Bloomer Duessen

An American in Paris Suite by George Gershwin/Whitney

Overture to "Candide" by Leonard Bernstein

Harry Potter Symphonic Suite by John Williams/Brubaker

Symphonic Suite from "The Lord of the Rings" by Howard Shore/Whitney

Music for a Great Ride by Jim Theobald... Written for the Cherokee Symphony-premiered July 21, 2002.

Admission at the door is $7.00 per person. Season tickets will be honored, all students are admitted free of charge.
