Jennifer Perry, age 54, of Storm Lake died at her home on Thursday, November 7, surrounded by family and friends following a lengthy and courageous battle with breast cancer.
A graveside committal service will be held at the Storm Lake Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 11, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Storm Lake United Methodist Church. Reverend Stephen M. Hall of St. Mark Episcopal Church of Fort Dodge will officiate.
The family will be present to greet friends on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home. Memorial contributions will be used to endow a nursing scholarship to honor Jennifer.
Jennifer was born on April 19, 1948, at Coon Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Ardith "Bud" and Irma (Rauch) Henry. She attended high school in Rockwell City and nursing school at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Jennifer was a nurse for several years at Iowa Methodist Hospital and after moving to Storm Lake worked with Trimark Family Health Center.
She was active in the All Saints Episcopal Church, served on the Board of Faith, Hope and Charity, was an active supporter of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, served on the committee to pass the middle school bond issue and was a volunteer in many other area activities.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Hugh Perry, Storm Lake; two sons: Andrew of Atlanta, Georgia and Jason of Arlington, Virginia; a sister Teen Carlson of Des Moines, two brothers: James Sheil of St. Louis, Missouri and Dennis Henry of Fulton, Missouri and a niece Mickey Carlson of Des Moines. Also surviving are numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Her parents and a brother, Buddy Henry died earlier.
