SL blanked in season finale

Austin Jansen rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns as MOC-Floyd Valley, ranked 10th in Class 3A, downed Storm Lake 47-0 in the season finale on Friday night at Orange City.

MOC-Floyd Valley, the district champions, will host a first-round playoff game on Wednesday night.

The Dutch generated 349 yards rushing in the game. Jansen had 271 on only 13 carries.

"They ran the ball very well and they dominated us," Storm Lake coach Bill McCabe said. "I thought we improved throughout the year. It might not have shown."

Storm Lake was held to minus 2 yards rushing in the game. The Tornadoes, however, did pass for 104 yards. Nick Sorbe completed 10 of 21 passes. Ben Thompson caught seven passes for 57 yards.

Storm Lake finished the season 2-7 overall.
