Floyd Christiansen

Graveside services were held for Floyd Christiansen, were held Saturday, October 19, at the Schaller Cemetery.

Floyd Christiansen was born on February 22, 1931 at Storm Lake. He attended the first four years of schooling at Nemaha, then the family moved to Schaller. He graduated from Schaller High School in 1949. He was in the Navy and served on a Tanker during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He also served in the Air National Guard from 1960 to 1963. He graduated from Buena Vista College in 1961. On January 25, 1957 he married Ruth Habbena and they were parents of twins, Sherri and Steven.

Floyd retired from Montgomery Ward and after that retirement he and Ruth managed motels in California and Oregon. They spend the last several years in Schaller. Floyd especially enjoyed golfing and card playing in those years.

He leaves to mourn his son Steven and wife Lisa. Also three siblings: Marlys Kroese, Dennis and Dean Christiansen and their families.

Preceding Floyd in death were his daughter, Sherri, wife Ruth, and his parents Ben and Lois Christiansen.
