Funeral services for Ivanetta Schramm, age 99, of Pomeroy, was held on Monday, October 21 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pomeroy, with Pastor Kevin Schnakenberg officiating.
Burial was in Union Cemetery at Pomeroy.
Ivanetta Schramm died on Thursday, October 17, at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas.
Ivanetta Dankers was born on June 29, 1903, at Lake City, Minn. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Meerkens) Dankers. She was baptized on July 19, 1903 and confirmed on April 1, 1914. Ivanetta attended school near Lake City. The couple farmed near Newell, Knoke and Pomeroy. In 1965, they retired from farming and moved into Pomeroy. Fred died January of 1979, and Ivanetta continued to make her home in Pomeroy until November of 2002, when she entered the Pocahontas Manor.
Ivanetta was life-long member of the Immanueal Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, the L.W.M.L., the L.L.L. and the Senior Citizens. She belonged to the Kitchen Band and wrote many letters to sick and shut-in people.
Survivors include her sons: Winferd (Arnelda) Schramm of Battle Creek, Hilbert (Corrine) Schramm of Amarillo, TX, Dale (Lois) Schramm of Atlantic, Lenus (Georgia) Schramm of Pocahontas, Ralph (Barb) Schramm of Guthrie Center and Leon (Marilyn) Schramm of Pomeroy; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and sister, Donna Mae Steffenhagen of Frontenac, Minn.
Ivanetta was preceded in death by her parents husband, Fred, son Harris, brothers, Dorance, Wallace, Vernon, Eldon and Wayne and sisters, Alvira Kohrs, Fern Jansen and Margaret Scharpen.
