Paces Alta runners
Eric Holton earned a medal to help lead Alta at the LM-ACT Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.
Alta finished seventh out of 12 teams. Holton finished 13th out of 67 runners with a time of 17 minutes, 31 seconds.
Charles Ryherd was 27th with a time of 18:30, followed by Josh Mann 34th in 18:54, Tom Hinkeldey 47th in 19:41, Brett Hahn 54th in 20:26 and Kyle Edwards 60th in a time of 21:31.
Liz Pedersen led the girls team, placing 17th with a time of 18:31. Halley Cranston was 24th in 19:31 and Elissa Stevens 28th in 19:52.
Curtis Parker paced Aurelia's boys by finishing sixth with a time of 16:49. Garrett Hill was 23rd in 18:11, Bryan Lemke 33rd in 18:52 and Kory Biggerstaff 37th in 19:04.
Kyle Biggerstaff placed 46th in a time of 19:40, while Dillion Dunn was 58th in 20:56 and Gaylen Miller 62nd in a time of 21:41.
Aurelia placed fifth with 145 points. Prairie Valley was the winner with 62. Galva-Holstein was second, Sioux Central sixth and LM-ACT ninth.
Trista Johnson and Wendy Nelson finished 14th and 15th, respectively. Johnson posted a time of 18:28, while Nelson was clocked in 18:33.
Leah Fishman was 23rd in 19:28, Tina Wagenaar 49th in 22:04, Jennifer Cougill 50th in 23:37 and Jill Cougill 51st with a time of 23:49.
Aurelia placed fifth in the team standings with 101 points. Southern Calhoun was the winner. Galva-Holstein was second, LM-ACT fourth and Sioux Central eighth.
Middle School Division
Heather Douglas finished 13th out of 31 runners to lead Storm Lake. Her time was 15:24. Abby McKenna finished 22nd with a time of 16:10. Both times were personal bests.
Derek Brock placed 22nd in 17:03 in the boys race.
Lucas Droessler finished eighth in a time of 13:58 to lead Storm Lake St. Mary's. Justin Cullen was 12th in 15:06.
Paul Allerdings of Alta won the boys race with a time of 11:54. Tyler Sliefert was second in 12:54, Alan Hinkeldey fifth in 13:30, Brian Pedersen sixth in 13:30, Tyler Boyd ninth in 14:17 and Adam Holton 10th in 14:20.
Alta's Deidre Hinkeldey finished fourth with a time of 14:28 in the girls race. Brianna Aube was seventh in 14:37, Kayla Nickolisen 10th in 15:18 and Amanda Meyer 27th in 17:07.
