Meth, marijuana are local drugs of choice, club drugs a growing concern

She was 14 years old when she started using drugs. Now, at 16, she is a recovering drug addict speaking out in hopes of helping others.

The girl, from Cherokee County, described her first experience with marijuana as "fun."

"I felt different," she said. Her name is being withheld at her family's request.

Over the next year she felt that the drugs she used never became a habit.

"It was just something to do to have fun," she said.

She got stoned all day every weekend. She never realized she had a problem and she hid her addiction so well than no one else knew she had a problem, she said.
