Student excited by evolution of BVU campus

Changes are happening at Buena Vista University. Starting Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, BVU students will be searching for new parking spaces and trying to cope with the ever present noise that will accompany the construction of the new science center.

Although students may resent these changes now, upon completion their distress and discomfort will have been worthwhile. I am a sophomore biology and pre-dental major at BVU and I am quite excited about the new science center that is being erected. The new building will provide many opportunities that are unavailable now for students.

The current science facilities can be described as crowded, outdated, and limiting to learning options; the construction of a new building is inevitable. Not only will the new science center bring additional resources and space but it will give a unique look to the campus. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed funds and/or resources to BVU.

Without their help, this project and many others would have never been accomplished. The quality of education at BVU is unlike any other thanks to the thoughtfulness of these generous citizens.

Lacey McDevitt,
