Angels weep for America

As Planes crashed into the Pentagon and World Trade Center,

Another Plane was brought down by Heroic Passengers.

The Angels watched in horror and their tears fell like rain,

Because they knew God could not stop the evil that came our way.

Angels weep, their tears falling to Earth like rain,

Helplessly they watch as our blue skies turn gray.

Evil strikes us from a clear blue sky,

Billows of smoke block out the sunlight.

The eleventh day of September, two thousand and one,

The day our Nation United, we came together as one.

Angels weep, their tears falling to Earth like rain,

As they witness the destruction that came to us that day.

Thousands die as the Twin Towers come down,

Hundreds more at the collapse of the Pentagon.

Heroes race to the Pentagon and Twin Towers,

Searching for victims, working together hour after hour.

Angels weep, their tears falling to Earth like rain,

As they feel our sorrow, our grief, our pain.

Angels wept, for hours their tears rained down,

Soaking our heroes, still they stand their ground.

Working in shifts past the point of exhaustion,

Searching for victims in the debris left by destruction.

Angels weep, their tears falling to Earth like rain,

To see our unity, our courage, our strength.

Terrorists sought to destroy us, to break our spirit,

But it brought us closer together, we are one country united.

We are stronger than ever, as across the Nation our flag is unfurled,

We will end the reign of terror with help from around the world.

"God Bless America" the Angels now cry,

As they see our faith, our perseverance, our pride.
