Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa didn't present evidence in a timely manner to support its appeal to keep pregnancy tests secret, a county prosecutor said Tuesday.
Planned Parenthood should have raised the issues of right to privacy and doctor-patient privilege at a June 24 district court hearing, Buena Vista County Attorney Phil Havens said.
The county is seeking the records from Planned Parenthood's Storm Lake clinic in its investigation into a dead baby boy found at a recycling center in May. Authorities want the names and addresses of all women with a positive pregnancy test between Aug. 15, 2001, and May 30, 2002.
