Installation ceremony to be held for Concordia
Ceremony will be held Sunday, August 18
An installation ceremony for the teachers and principal of the Concordia Lutheran School will he held Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. The public is invited.
Parents, volunteers and supporters from other circuit congregations will also be present at the special service. Rev. Robert Riggert, Iowa District West Executive Assistant, will be the speaker and installing officer for principal Fred Krueger and teachers Susan Barlow, Sherrie Grieme and Melissa Lund. People will have the opportunity to meet the faculty and administration during the fellowship period St. John choir will perform, and the St. John congregation will serve as hosts, as the church will provide the temporary facilities for this school term.. St. John is providing space for Concordia until the renovation is completed at their new facility.
For the 2002-2003 school year, Concordia Lutheran School will provide classes for kindergarten through sixth grade.
Meet Concordia's Teachers Principal Fred Krueger was born in St. Louis. He graduated from St. Paul's Lutheran High, and St. Paul's Jr. College, Concordia, Mo. He earned his bachelor's degree in 1966 from Concordia University, Seward, Neb., and his Master's Degree from the University of South Dakota in 1970. He taught grades 5 and 6 at St. Paul, Millington, Mich.,1996-97. He served as teacher of upper grades and principal at Zion, Storm Lake, 1967 - 1971; St. Peter, Davenport, Neb., 1971-1979; Rose of Sharon, Cottage Grove, Minn.; Immanuel, Gaylord, Minn., 1983 -1991; Salem, St. Louis, 1991 - 1995; Trinity, Atchison, KS., 1995-2000; Zion, Lincoln, Ill., 2000-1, and St. Paul, Fulda, Minn., 2001-2. His wife is the former Diane Dierenfield, Storm Lake, and they were married in 1966. The Krueger family includes 4 children and 7 grandchildren. They live at 314 Irving St.
Melissa Lund comes from LaCrosse, Wis. She graduated from Buena Vista University in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood emphasis. She taught one year in the Alta Community School. Her husband's name is Brian. Melissa is the kindergarten teacher.
Sherrie Grieme lives in Schaller, and is a 1993 graduate of Buena Vista University, with a degree in Elementary Education and emphasis in coaching. Sherrie taught at St. Mary's, Storm Lake, for 8 years. Her husband's name is Kent. This will be her second year at Concordia, grades 1 and 2.
Susan Barlow also calls Schaller home, but now lives in Storm Lake. She graduated from Wayne State College, Nebraska, in 1988, and has taught for 14 years in a rural school near Atkinson, Neb. She teaches grades 3 and 4.
