Dorothy Ruth Schroder, age 80, of Nashua, formerly of Storm Lake, died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at the Riverside Chautauqua Nursing Home in Charles City following a lengthy illness.
The funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake with the Reverend Jamie Cutler of Storm Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. on Tuesday where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Dorothy Ruth Spooner was born November 21, 1921 in Storm Lake the daughter of Ernest and Florence (Petty) Spooner. She graduated from Storm Lake High School.
She married Clementh Miller, to this union two children, Donald and Linda were born. She later married George Schroder. Her husbands preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a homemaker and liked sewing and vegetable gardening. Her family includes her children, Linda Miller-Prozak and her husband, Joe, of Storm Lake and Donald Miller and his wife, Patricia of Renfro Valley, Kentucky, two sisters, Mavis J. Hock of Storm Lake and Phyllis Toiberg and her husband, Jack of Laurens, a brother, Ed Spooner and his wife Marilyn of Hanover, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, two sisters, Sylvia Nielsen and Burnadette Guynn and by two brothers, Floyd and Frank.
