Neighborly ride-run

We recently raced the July 4th run/ride around Storm Lake. We are avid runners and cyclists and had my road bike all prepared. Or so we thought. I rode the first three miles and then started on my run. Karl, all geared up to ride, got on the bike and the front tire went flat.

Fortunately there were spectators around and one of them was Mr. Jorgensen of Storm Lake. He helped Karl pump up the tire and when that didn't work offered his bike, apologizing that it was not in better shape. Karl thanked him and hopped on.

We finished third in out division with the help of Mr. Jorgensen and his bike. We would like to thank him and all the friendly folks of Storm Lake for helping us have a eventful but enjoyable race.

See you at next year's race.
