John L. Florke, 74, of Blue Eyes, Mo., passed away May 29, at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. of complications from a car accident on March 8.
John was born April 26, 1928 at Pierson to Harry and Frieda (Jansen) Florke.
He married Jean Zembsch of Cleghorn at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alta, January 30, 1949.
John was self employed in the Excavation and Construction Industry. He was involved in the construction industry in the Table Rock Lake and Branson Mo., area for over 30 years. Prior to relocating he was employed at A. B. Chance Co., in Centrolia, Mo. John was a retired member of the Volunteer Fire Department Station #12 of Blue Eyes.
He was a charter member of the Methodist Church of Blue Eyes and frequently contributed his equipment time and knowledge to numerous community projects through out the area.
Memorial services were held at the United Methodist Church in Blue Eyes on June 1. Interment of his ashes will be in the Pine Crest Cemetery, Kimberly City, Mo.
Survivors include his wife Jean; sons, Don and wife Janet and Eric, Jeffrey, and Janel; daughter, Donna Jean and husband Joe and April; son, Devin. Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews all of Blue Eyes; two sisters, Harriet Marcario of Alta, Deloris Clayton of Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Albert, sister Lila Mae Wyatt, and his eldest son Dennis (Butch) Florke.
