School Board seats at AHS
School board election time will soon be here, and 2002 will be a busy year, as three spots on the five-member board will be open for election.
The three-year terms of Richard Marshall and Rick Glienke will both expire, while Dan Sliefert will resign from the board effective Aug. 31 with one year remaining on his term. Glienke has already announced he will not seek reelection, while Marshall has not yet announced whether he will seek another term on the board.
The first day to file nomination petitions with the secretary of the school board is Monday, July 8. The last day to submit such papers will be Thursday, Aug. 1.
July 2 will be the first day to submit an application for for an absentee ballot for the school election. Those requests must be filed in the Office of the County Auditor. Voter registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 30.
Polls will open at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the Alta Community Center and will remain open until 8 p.m.
