State Farm Insurance Companies recently presented the Storm Lake School District Foundation with a $3,280 donation to sponsor the Tornado Learning Club (TLC).
The money will be used to fund the science and math skills curriculum.
"We are excited about supporting this program," said State Farm agents Dan and Diane Sokolowski. "We recognize the many benefits it will provide to the students and to our community."
The Tornado Learning Club is a before- and after-school program for Storm Lake Middle School students. This unique educational program provides positive, drug-free guidance to children whose parents are at work before or after school. The Tornado Learning Club also provides assistance with homework to all students, including students learning English.
According to Donna Queen, Director of the Tornado Learning Club, the Club has impacted more than 60 percent of the student population in Storm Lake Middle School, and said parents, teachers and students feel it is extremely important program.
