Over 25 special needs children at Faith, Hope and Charity, located in Storm Lake, are packing their bags for a nine day trip with mother nature.
The fun-filled week of camping in Okoboji begins Saturday June 15. The children will load up in Storm Lake that afternoon, filling the bus with sleeping bags, bug spray and a bundle of smiles to make the hour-long journey. When the children arrive at the Great Lakes, they won't waste any time lounging in the sun. Fun activities like swimming, boating, and crafts are planned each day. They'll also spend time at Arnolds Park and Treasure Village.
Camp week is a fun opportunity for the children at FHC and many look forward to the summer time adventure. This outing is unique for children who are severely handicapped; many are not able to go on such outings with their own families because of their profound disabilities. Camp week is just one of the ways FHC builds special memories for children with special needs.
The children from Faith, Hope and Charity will go camping in Okoboji the week of June 15-23.
