SL Municipal Band to open season

First outdoor concert this Sunday

The Storm Lake Municipal Band will play its first concert of the season this Sunday, June 2. Sunday's concert will be the first of six Sunday afternoon concerts in the park by the Municipal Band. The concerts will be played at the band shell in Sunset Park, and they will begin at 2 p.m.

The program for the Storm Lake Municipal Band concert on Sunday, June 2 is as follows:

* Battle of New Orleans - Jimmy Driftwood, arranged by Lou Leaman

* Big Bands Go Western - arranged by James Ployhar

* Bright Lights on Broadway - arranged by John Higgins

* Were You There? - African-American Spiritual, arranged by Edward McLin
