Hustedt took a no-hitter into the seventh

Chad Hustedt took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before settling on a four-hitter to help lead Galva-Holstein to a 5-3 win over Schaller-Crestland in a baseball game last Thursday night at Holstein.

Hustedt allowed three runs on four hits in the seventh inning. He walked two and struck out 13 batters in the game.

Nathan Johnson suffered the loss for the Wildcats. He allowed five hits, three earned runs, walked one and struck out six over 5 1/3 innings.

Calvin Kluver, Jim Alesch and Evan Johnson each delivered an RBI single for the Wildcats. Jacob Myrtue added a single.

J.D. Allen had two hits to lead the Pirates. Matt Egger drove in two runs with a single.

The Wildcats, now 0-1, play at Albert City-Truesdale on Wednesday night.

Sioux Central 14, Lakeland 2

Kenley Buettner, Nate Wittmaack and Jason Ferguson all went 3-for-3, and Kyle Rehnstrom clubbed a grand slam home run as Sioux Central routed Lakeland last Thursday night at Peterson.

The Rebels had 14 hits in the game. Rehnstrom had two and also scored two runs. Mike Haroldsen smacked a solo home run and scored two runs for the Rebels, who are now 2-0 overall on the season.

Ferguson drove in three runs and scored two runs. Wittmaack added a pair of RBIs.

Andrew Meister was the winning pitcher. He allowed three hits, no earned runs, walked one and struck out five over four innings of work.

Aaron Sassman pitched one inning in relief. He allowed two runs on one hit.
