Methodist Manor receives funding for presentation

Methodist Manor Retirement community has received funding from Humanities Iowa, a private, non profit state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

To host a presentation called "Early Iowa Pioneer Women" by Bev Larson, a retired teacher of 28 years and the author of "the Brave Ones."

The event is open to the public on Thursday, May 16, at 2:30 p.m.

Larson's book that focuses on the first women in various Iowa counties. A cultural resource for Iowans since 1971, Humanities Iowa offers many cultural and historical programs and grants to Iowa communities.

"Early Iowa Pioneer Women" will be presented in the Central Commons area at the Manor. Handicap facilities are available. If a person with a disability requires special assistance, please call (712) 732-1120, Ext. 116. This event is free and all are welcome.
