Catherine Anne Vermeer and Matthew David Bloom were united in marriage on September 15, at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Reverend Greg Alderman performed the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Evan and Dawn Vermeer of Sioux Center and Myron and Karyn Bloom of Albert City.

Maid of honor was Elizabeth Vermeer of Sioux Center, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Carol Hulstein of Pella, friend of the bride; Patti Dykstra of Des Moines, friend of the couple; Amy Vanden Bosch of Des Moines, friend of the couple; and Tara Madsen of Eldora, friend of the bride. The bride's personal attendant was Minde Schuiteman of Sioux Center, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Stephen Bloom of Albert City, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Aaron Bloom of Ida Grove, cousin of the groom; Bryant Engelmann of Storm Lake, friend of the groom, Brian Rock of Stillwater, MN., friend of the groom; and Eric Vermeer, of Ames, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Matthew Schuiteman of Sioux Center, cousin of the bride; Clint Hogrefe of Des Moines, friend of the couple; Jennifer Kragt of Waterloo, sister of the groom; and Melissa Gillis of Rochester, MN., sister of the groom.

Soloist was Ruth Vermeer of Rock Valley, aunt of the bride. Pianist was Erica Haack of Des Moines, cousin of the groom.

A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Master of the ceremonies was Al Vermeer of Rock Valley, uncle of the bride. Host and hostess were Leon and Karen Schuiteman of Sioux Center, uncle and aunt of the bride.

After a honeymoon trip to Estes Park, CO., the couple now resides in West Des Moines. The bride is employed as a senior finance analyst at Pioneer Hi-Bred International in Des Moines. The groom is employed as a grain superintendent at the Farmers Cooperative elevator in Earlham.
