VERMILLION, S.D. - Amy Wulfekuhler saved her best jump of the indoor season for her last meet.
The Storm Lake junior leaped 16 feet, 11 1/4 inches to place third out of 44 competitors at the Dan Lennon Invitational on Monday at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion, S.D.
The winning leap was 16-2 and second place came in at 17-0.
Stacy Schmidt placed fifth out of 69 runners in the 100 meters. The Tornado junior ran a time of 13.34 seconds in the finals.
Lisa Bowman placed 13th out of 40 runners in the 3,200 meters with a time of 13 minutes, 2.88 seconds. Bowman also placed 21st in the 1,600 meters with a time of 6:13.4. Casey Jennett ran a time of 6:48.8.
The 4x200 relay team of Abbie Higgins, Sherae Lalone, Morae Youde and Billie Blanchard ran a time of 2:01.9.
The top five in individual events and top three in relays were awarded plaques.
Storm Lake concludes its indoor season. The Tornadoes begin the outdoor season on Tuesday at the Richard Ryan Relays in Gowrie.
