Funeral services for Arlene W. Hunt, 88, of Galva, were held Wednesday, March 27, at St. John Lutheran Church, Galva, with Pastor Paul Egger officiating.
Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Galva. Barker Funeral Home, Alta, was in charge of arrangements.
Arlene Hunt, daughter of Frank and Mary (Kolpin) Lichtenberg was born on January 24, 1914, in Galva. She graduated from Galva High School in 1931.
On February 24, 1934, Arlene married Harry Otto in Cherokee. Harry passed away on October 2, 1960.
Arlene lived on a farm north of Galva until 1963, when she moved into the town of Galva. She was employed at the bank in Galva and at Lamm Insurance from 1962 until she retired in 1974.
On November 23, 1963, Arlene married Marvin Hunt. He passed away on May 1, 2001.
Arlene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Galva, the Galva American Legion Auxiliary, and the Ladies Aid of St. John. For many years, she served as the organist at St. John Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry and Marvin; her parents; and her brother, Frank Lichtenberg.
Her survivors include a daughter, Marlene Otto, Des Moines; a son and his wife, Dale and Marcia Otto, Storm Lake; two sisters, Marjorie Kaltenheuser, Des Moines; and Delores Laughery, Eagle Grove; one stepson, Bruce Hunt, St. Peter, Mn.; one stepdaughter, Kathleen Johnson, Burnsville, Mn.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Neva Savchuck, St. Paul, Minn., Sadie Mohn, Alta, Kathryn Otto, Mapleton; and two brothers-in-law, Clifford and Cleova Hunt, Belle Vista, Ark., and Earl and Eleanor Otto, Storm Lake.
