Jack Howard Owen, 80, Halstead, Kansas, died Sunday, March 3, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.
Mr. Owen was born May 8, 1921, at Joplin, Mo., the son of Howard Francis and Irene Jeanetta (Watson) Owen.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 7, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Wichita. Burial was in the Kechi Cemetery.
Jack was a retired executive with the Boy Scouts of America, Quivira Council. He was a Scouting Leader in Storm Lake in the late 1950's. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He married Elizabeth Wiggins February 8, 1942, at Joplin, Mo. They moved to Halstead in 1994. He was member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead, American Legion Post 231, Halstead, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Temple, Wichita, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a lifetime member of the Eagle Scout Association, Boy Scouts of America.
Memorials to Boy Scouts of America, Quivira Council, or First United Methodist Church, Halstead, both in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, Halstead; a son, Gary Owens, Wichita; a daughter, Debbie McEntire, Dallas, TX; eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Owen.
