Lee Manska Staton, age 77, of Sac City, died Thursday, March 21 at Sac City following a sudden illness.
Lee was born August 29, 1924 in Minnesota , the son of George W. and Florence (Manska) Staton. He married Helen E. Nielsen in Sac City. He was a long time resident of Sac City and was a member of the First Christian Church. Lee worked for Liechty and Reicoff and then the City of Sac City, retiring in 1987. After retiring he did some trucking for Glen Paeper. Lee was a long time member of the Sac City Saddle Club.
His family includes his wife Helen of Sac City; son Jerry (Cathy), Sac City; daughter, Lisa Fogarty (Tom), Des Moines; two grandsons, Robbie Staton, Lake View and Damon Staton, Sac City; granddaughter, Hannah Fogarty, Des Moines; two step-grandsons, Timothy Fogarty, Storm Lake and Eric Webberson, Indiana; two step-granddaughters, Heather Richards, Ames, and Deena Tauber, Missouri; one step-great-granddaughter, Stephanie Tauber, Missouri; two brothers, Dean Staton (Shirley), Lake View, and Leo Staton (Shirley) Sac City; four sisters, JoAnn (Dick) Vauble, Sac City, Martha Breon, Sac City; Marilyn Mentzer (Ray), Early, and Marge Hammer of Storm Lake.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Julie, three brothers, Jimmy, Clair and Rolland; and a sister Kathryn Birt.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, at the First Christian Church in Sac City with burial in the Cory Grove Cemetery, Sac City.
