Bowman earns All-American scholastic achievement honor

Tuesday, March 26, 2002

The United States Achieve-ment Academy (USAA) announced today that Matt Bowman of Storm Lake has been named an All-American Scholar.

The USAA has established the All-American Scholar Award Program to offer deserved recognition to superior students who excel in the academic disciplines.

The All-American Scholars must earn at least a 3.30 grade point average in their academic studies. Only scholars selected by a school instructor, counselor, or other qualified sponsor are accepted. These scholars are eligible for other awards given by the USAA.

Bowman, who attends Storm Lake Middle School, was nominated for this national award by Mrs. Kestel. Matt will appear in the All-American Scholar Yearbook, a national publication featuring the scholars and recognizing them for their achievements.

Bowman is the son of David and Kathy Bowman from Storm Lake. The grandparents are Doris Rolfes of LeMars, and Ed and Gretchen Bowman of Algona.
