SL's DeHann selected to play in Dordt All-Star game

Jeff DeHaan, a senior guard on the Storm Lake basketball team this past season, was selected to play in the 2002 Pizza Ranch/Defender Gold Classic.

The sixth annual game will be played this Saturday at DeWitt Gymnasium on the campus of Dordt College in Sioux Center.

Senior all-stars from the Lakes, Siouxland and War Eagle Conferences will showcase their basketball talents.

DeHaan was chosen to the Boys Black Team. He will be joined by Jonathan Engbers and Brent Van Maanen of Western Christian, Andy Mueting and Kyle Struve of Sheldon, Ryan Dupic of Emmetsburg, Kiel Stephens of Cherokee, Kelly Greenfield of LeMars, James Langel of LeMars Gehlen and Aaron Stickney of Sergeant Bluff-Luton.

The girls game will begin at 6:15 p.m. and the boys game to follow at approximately 8 p.m.

Laura Reuter, Dana Lehner, Betsy Beach and Amber Arens of LeMars, Tara DeBoer and Rachel Van Beek of Western Christian, Heather Brown and Katie Grave of Spencer, and Meredith Vos and Erin Youngers of Sheldon will play for the girls Black squad.
